Balochistan: A Baloch mother suffers from mental distress for her son
Quetta: The father of illegally abducted Fareed Baloch Mr. Amanullah Baloch went on a press conference and stated that Fareed’s mother is suffering from mental instability because of the uncertainty of her son's conditions and whereabouts.
Fareed Baloch, a student of Masters in Computer science Balochistan University, and an I.T. in charge of an N.G.O. named “Taraqi Foundation”, was abducted by the secret agencies of Pakistan from his office on 13 February 2009. There was no information regarding his whereabouts until recently released Shahzeb Baloch disclosed that he had seen Fareed in a torture cell where he was being severely tortured, both mentally and physically. According to Mr Baloch’s statement Fareed Baloch was suffering from mental illnesses due to the severe torture inflicted on him.
Amanullah Baloch, who also is physically disabled, in the press conference said that due to his son’s disappearance his whole family, especially himself and his wife [Fareed’s mother] are in a state of mental distress and that he couldn’t understand why his son [Fareed] was being tortured severely from last five months and he has not been produced in front of any court. He further added that “it seems as if the rope with which they want to hang my son is not fitting yet”.
He said he fears that to stop his son from asking for justice they [Pakistani agencies] would blast him in some car or kill him in a fake police encounter. He further disclosed that his son Fareed is already facing a certain lung disease and he and his family could not rest for a single moment with the fears they have about Fareed’s life and the condition in which he is held. He appealed National and International Media, Human Rights activists and thoughtful people to help him to get his son released from the captivity of the malicious armed forces of Pakistan.
