Balochistan Missing persons issue: Baloch children on token hunger strike

Quetta: Minor school children including the children of Chakar Qambarani are on token hunger strike from last three days. They are demanding for the release of missing Baloch person ‘of course including Chakar Qambarani’. Chaakar Qambrani Baloch (member Central Committee, BRP) was abducted by secret intelligence services of Pakistan from Quetta on February 6th, 2009. Few days later on February 13th 2009, Jalil Reki Baloch (Central Information Secretary of BRP) was abducted by secret intelligence services of Pakistan from Quetta. The school children vowed to continue their protest until extra-judicially arrested person from Balochistan are released and reunited with their families. Several other Baloch political and student activists have been abducted by the Pakistani intelligence agencies, their family members have tried to protest in democratic ways. They have approached to the courts of law but the Pakistani justice system has failed to provide justice and protection to the citizens of Balochistan.

The family of Iqbal Baloch traveled all the way from Balochistan to Islamabad to protest in front of Supreme Court of Pakistan where they instead of receiving justice, have been humiliated by the Punjab police. They were baton charged and forced to call off their protest. Just to remind our readers – Iqbal Baloch was abducted on March 14th 2007 near Mand town in Balochistan.

It is so obvious that Pakistan is run and controlled by the intelligence agencies. Courts and other civilian institutions are helpless and cannot dare to challenge these notorious intelligence departments like ISI, MI and IB. The so called democratic and elected governments too have always been remote controlled by these agencies.

That is why Pakistan's departments of justice, police, army and the so called civilian governments and institutions cannot be trusted. Baloch do not expect justice and protection from Pakistani institutions. for the reasons above we believe international intervention in Balochistan is of significant importance. International community must act now to stop the elimination of Baloch people.
