Sharm el Shaikh meeting; echo sound of a file full of allegations but lacks evidence..!

Adversity never appears alone; any step taken in presence of this 'virus' may cause only harm. Pakistan's current situation about Baloch issue is exactly the same as the above example. It apologizes, people ask them the guarantee of not repeating those redundancy. Lacking answer to these questions they start to lush and talk about hitting the Baloch, people ask them severely; till when this hitting be continued? Beginning of this can be digested which was started by hypocrisies of rulers but what will be the end if this 'Hit' continue till last remaining Baloch speaking of freedom and what if this really happens and the census of freedom seekers turn out to be in a huge number rejecting the numbers shown in government claim, so till when this chain of killings continue? Talks with who? Lacking answers to such sensitive questions they therefore tell stories of nowhere and waste time. Outcome of this in today's current situation is in front of all. Regardless of being a nuclear power, Pakistan is in Top 10 list of fail states in the world accompanied by Somalia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Chad, Republic of Congo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Pakistan is among these with the most glory, Now what could a country of this value make the world fulfill any of its commitments? Conjecturing this fact is not difficult because all the matters in this world are solved by bilateral interests and the fact of showing seriousness in past incidents of serious matters, but Pakistan's adversity, Pakistan is not authentic in any matter all over the world. Regardless being a nuclear power it is dependant for wheat, its non satisfactory past, present and future are the reason of bringing up unsafe political and economical crisis in the entire world making it the cause of its gitter.
The pressure of this external gitter has brought very trouble for the rulers and above this its internal anarchy are additional, making the rulers nearly paralyzed. This is the reason they are repeatedly making mistakes. Whereas pro-liberation Balochs are seemed to be very hopeful and satisfied in every way.
In similar state of worries and anxiousness, Pakistan's PM Yusuf Raza Gilani handed over the file of complaints against Baloch to Indian PM Manmohan Singh. Many of Pakistani journalists and pro-government intellectuals quoted this as a great success for their country but reality is way opposite of this, as they say 'God is with them who have no one' similarly the tricks of lively are turning against it and are getting in favor of Baloch.
1. Mentioning the topic of Baloch national struggle in Sharm el Shaikh, Yusuf Raza Gilani has accepted the existence of BLA, BRA, BLF and other Baloch resistance movements. Whereas Gilani himself along with other government officials has kept on saying that there is no freedom struggle in Balochistan nor any Baloch resistance movement ever existed. Following Islamabad, Governor of Balochistan recently issued a similar statement.
2. Second point which is a plus point for Baloch national struggle is that the world has got the opportunity to take interest and regular debate about Baloch case. The matter which was just on whisper stage so far, now has become so important that it has become Pakistan's problem number one.
3. Third benefit, people abroad who were confused about Baloch case, now that this case has gained solid gravity that it can become the reason of any change in this region effecting Pakistan's geography. Now Pakistan's confession has forced those people to revise their thoughts and doubts about Baloch and now their doubts will turn into beliefs that Baloch is ready as a nation which can play a great role in any change in this region.
4. Fourth benefit, internally in Balochistan people who had doubt on this movement (pro-parliament Baloch political parties are also included) and in other parts of Pakistan the period of surface interests opinion about Balochistan which was increasing or the period of calling this issue as a surface issue and the issue of Tribal heads has ended. Now this debate will reveal government propagandas and the real emerging face of Baloch national struggle will appear.
5. Fifth benefit, answering the references and allegations of Pakistan about this issue, super powers and international organizations will quest and research more and more about this issue and will hear Baloch nation's own point of view. In such situation when arguments or proofs from both sides come forward then it's all benefit of Baloch.
Pakistani rulers handing over Balochistan's complaint based file to India has started the beginning of this. Outwardly, the file given to Manmohan Singh is based on the allegations which were repeatedly heard from government officials stating foreign interference in Balochistan. In this situation when Pakistan states Baloch freedom fighters as its enemy, blames them receiving help from other countries especially India and these allegations have been coming forward since the beginning of this war, so why Pakistan did not feel in 4 to 5 years the need to conclude any concrete proof in this file? This shows clearly that without false allegations it does not have any non reject able proof.
Such allegations are shown very bravely by Pakistani officials in Balochistan governor house or chief minister house where a very few people got the guts of asking the truth and asking any proof or a fewer people want to know more about the issue. Therefore when Awais Ghani, former governor of Balochistan, claims that weapons of billions of rupees were smuggled from Afghanistan to Balochistan but thinking everyone except him is a fool he doesn’t feel to give any source or proof. Similarly from past times till today talks of interference of India, Russia, US, Israel and Afghanistan were continuously brought forward but it (Pakistan) could not bring up even a single proof successfully. It means that the intelligence agencies according to Lashkari Raisani, a ruling party senator, provide false and baseless information to higher authorities which are made base in Islamabad to make policies and act upon them.
Interpreters from governor to central and provincial houses said that Martyred Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was in Afghanistan, India and other places but everyone witnessed the reality on the beginning of 23rd Augusts' ground field which ended after Nawab Bugti's and his colleague's martyrdom on 26th august 2006. Present Federal Interior Minister quoted in front of the world media that John Solecki was held in Kabul near Hamid Karzai's palace but later on John Solecki was found in Mastung area near Quetta. In this lineage he twice accused Brahmdagh Bugti, grandson of Martyr Nawab Akbar Bugti, of kidnapping Mr. Solecki, then four times he changed his statement saying Brahmdagh Bugti was not involved in this abduction, but later on in parliament's in-camera session he said that John Solecki was abducted on Brahmdagh's advice and John Solecki was with Brahmdagh's accompanies. In evidence he showed that Brahmdagh quoting John Solecki as code name of 'the red goat' in a conversation.
In the light of the history of confirming past allegations of Pakistan it can be easily said that Pakistan won't be able to prove any allegations on Balochistan matter, in fact it would see the reaction of this when the whole world will take real interest in this matter and revise the history of allying Pakistan following its redundancy including the killings and genocide Pakistan has committed. The entire world will listen to the stories of Pakistani ruler's military operations and after that apologizing for the operations and again after that repeating the military operations. The division of Baloch nation in pieces by the British, Baloch's own homeland where it was in majority once now has converted into minority and a third and fourth class citizen, and such other realities will be heard by the world. The world will realize Baloch's identity and its thousands of years old history in danger. Then, Pakistani ruler's will get the point that the file which they handed over to India in order to blackmail India so that it stops persisting on action against Hafiz Saeed and other responsible of Mumbai attacks, but here the issue turned opposite to this. Pakistan will have to give Hafiz Saeed and a lot more because it itself invited the world to debate on this issue.
In such, the thing important for Baloch nation is that its leadership can take a great benefit from this opportunity or it may lose this golden chance due to its drowsy carelessness.

Holbrooke rubbishes Pak’s Baloch allegations

NEW DELHI: In the first rebuff to Pakistan’s efforts to internationalise the issue of India’s alleged interference in Balochistan post Sharm-El-Sheikh, US special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke revealed that Pakistani leaders had brought up the issue but said they failed to give credible evidence to back the claim.

Mr Holbrooke had visited Pakistan last week just as the Pakistani propaganda machinery had started increasing the noise on Balochistan. “I would be misleading, if I said it didn’t come up,” Mr Holbrooke said according to reports. When asked a question on whether Pakistan had provided any “credible evidence of India’s involvement in Balochistan”, he responded in the negative. “The narrow answer to your question is no,” he said.

But Pakistan, which has shown persistence in accusing India on this issue, is unlikely to be thwarted by such statements. Anyways, Islamabad has vowed to reveal information of India’s alleged role in Balochistan soon.

Though this is the first time Pakistan has brought up the Balochistan issue after the Indo-Pak joint statement, similar attempts have been made to stick the insurgency problems in the region on India. In fact, in 2006 Pakistan had given information of India’s alleged involvement in Balochistan to the US, UK and other countries. Even at that time, no country had taken the Pakistani allegations seriously. But that had not deterred Islamabad from continuously flagging the issue in the international arena.

This time round Pakistan has clearly been emboldened by the Indo-Pak joint statement, where the Indian side relented and allowed a reference to Balochistan to be included in the joint statement. This has provided impetus to Pakistan which has been trying to grab the international community’s attention and capitalise on the Balochistan reference in the joint statement.

But the Indian side is expected to get a clearer picture of Pakistan-related issues when Mr Holbrooke visits New Delhi mid-August. “I am going to go back in mid-August. Within the limits of Indian Independence Day, they all are looking forward to my coming,” Mr Holbrooke said. The special envoy was expected in India last week but that trip was postponed.

He further maintained that there was no difference with India on the issue of Pakistan and Afghanistan. “You know, India was the first country in the world I was ever aware of. I have a very special feeling for it. And if there’s a rift, you have to ask the Indians. I didn’t see any rift,” the US envoy said.

Balochistan: BNF women members protet against abductions of Baloch Youth

Quetta: (July 29, 2009) Balochistan national newspapers reported that Pakistani secret agencies and police have been continually involved in the kidnapping and arrest of innocent Baloch civilains. These act of state (Pakistan) are against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

According to the different Balochistan newspaper news such as Daily Intekhab, Daily Tawar and Daily Asaap (Balochistan’s National newspapers) they reported that Baloch National Front women’s members held a demonstration in front of Quetta press club. Their demonstration was against the arrest and kidnapping of Baloch in the hands of Pakistani secret agencies (MI, ISI), FC (frontier corps) and the police.

Speaking At the demonstration Dorr Jan Baloch stated that during recent Pakistani FC and secret agencies’ raids in Baloch houses, innocent Baloch children and families were assaulted. Several young men have been arrested and taken to unknown locations. An old Baloch mother asked the Pakistani forces for the sake of the holy Quran not to arrest her family, instead of such simple requests she was severely wounded. Dorr Jan stressed in her speech that the United Nation and the world Human Rights Organizations should take notice of such injustices against the Baloch which the state (Pakistani forces) are not respecting Baloch family privacy nor their culture. They keep on forcefully arresting and kidnapping the Baloch men, women and children.

Daily Assap newspaper from Quetta reported from the city of Khuzdar that all government and private hospital doctors on behalf of the Pakistan Medical Association Action Committee have boycotted from work. According to the doctors they have been getting enormous support from all walks of life. The doctors’ protest is against the abductions of their colleague Dr. Din Mohammed Baloch who has been abducted by Pakistani secret agencies on 29-06-2009 from Ornarch Hospital. Since his abduction his colleague doctors have been protesting and appealing to the higher authorities of his immediate and safe release. http://www.balochwarna.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1986

According to Daily Assap from University of Balochistan (Geology Department) students have been appealing to the Chief Minister of Balochistan to save their fellow student Sami Baloch. Their main concern is the brutal torture that he may suffer at the hands of Pakistani agencies, he may become mentally disabled and his education rights are taken away from him by such disgusting acts of the state authorities. So, the present Baloch generation education rights will be striped of and they will be deprived from being educated.

Daily Assap, another report stated that the spokesperson of the Balochistan National Movement Shall (Quetta) zone said that the Pakistani forces at the catchments area of Quetta; such as Keli Qambrani, Saryab Road, Samangli Road, Ismail Shabo, Sabzal Road, have arrested many innocent unarmed Baloch civilians. They (FC) also disrespected the holy Quran by throwing it away. Despite the plea five sons of the Baloch mother have been arrested and taken to an unknown location for interrogation and most likely torture.

Dam breach renders 15,000 homeless in Balochistan

QUETTA: At least 15,000 people were rendered homeless after torrential rain caused a breach in the under-construction Damani dam in the Barkhan district on Wednesday night.

More than a dozen villages in the district are reported to have been submerged by the water gushing out of the reservoir. According to reports reaching here, over 1,200 hectares of agricultural land has been inundated.

The dam is located around 17km from Barkhan. ‘The government has shifted the affected people to safe places and lunched a relief operation,’ Barkhan’s District Nazim Habibullah Khetran told Dawn.

There was no casualty because people began moving out of their villages when the reservoir started overflowing, he added.

Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani has asked the provincial disaster management authority to step up efforts to provide relief goods to the affected people.

‘Heavy monsoon rains are continuing in a vast area of northern Balochistan,’ a local administration official said.

A spokesman of the provincial irrigation department said a 25- to 30-foot breach had developed in the dam. He held the project’s contractor responsible for the breach.

Loralai Commissioner Haider Ali Shikoh said rescue and health teams had been sent to the area to provide help to the affected people. However, local people are complaining that they are still without shelter and food.

One of them, Raza Khetran, told Dawn on telephone that most of the affected people had spent a sleepless night in the open and the government had not provided anything to them so far.

Balochistan: Crackdown on Baloch students to obtain forced confessions

After Pakistan’s accusation of Indian involvement in subversive activities with the nationalist movement in Balochistan province, the law enforcement agencies reacted heavily against the students of the province who have sympathies with nationalist movement. The Para-military forces, particularly, the frontier constabulary (FC) started arresting people, keeping them in incommunicado in unknown places. There are reports of arrests of dozens of young persons, but due to poor communication problems, the AHRC was not able to collect all the details. Some cases are as follows;

An activist of the Baloch Student Organisation-BSO (Azaad), Mr. Sami Baloch, was abducted at midnight of July 19 and 20. He was returning home from a tuition center near the Satellite Town of Quetta. He was abducted by Frontier Constabulary, a Para- military force of the Pakistani Army. Mr. Sami Baloch is a M.A. student in Geology in Balochistan University and a member of the organizing body of BSO (Azaad) Balochistan University unit. His whereabouts are still unknown and it is feared that he is undergoing brutal torture in a Pakistani army camp.

In another case, Pakistani intelligence agencies allegedly abducted another Baloch resident. This occurred in front of the Huddah district jail in Quetta, the provincial capital, on the morning of July 16, 2009. According to information received from his family, Fazal Khan Marri, 25, went to visit one of his relatives in the Hudda jail. As he came out of the main gate of the prison, he was abducted by personnel from the Pakistani intelligence agencies in a jeep with no registration number. Fazal Khan Marri is a resident of New Kahan [also known as Marri camp]. He is a daily wage earner and the father of two children.

Mr.Fazal Baloch,19, son of Sher Muhammad, a student at Bolan University in the Commerce Faculty was arrested on 3rd July 2009 by F.C from Luc Pas, Quetta. Fazal Baloch, a 19 year old resident of Proom village, Punjgur district, was traveling to Punjgur by bus. He also was a member of B.S.O Azaad. According to his father, after his son was arrested, he was tortured. His physical and mental condition remains very serious. After the torture he was admitted to the Civil Hospital for two days after which he was handed over to the Crime Branch of anti terrorist force (A.T.F.) from Quetta. This took place late at night. In the hospital he told to his relatives that he was forced to confess that India is funding Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

Mr. Iqbal Baloch, 21, a student of Khuzdar College, Khuzdar district, was arrested by frontier constabulary (FC) on 18 July, 2009. His whereabouts are unknown. The district police are denying his arrest.

Nationalist groups and family members of the disappeared persons say that the Pakistani government is arresting students and young people with the aim to get confessions from them for alleged statements against India for its involvement in Balochistan’s insurgency. After the legal case started in India against Ajmal Kassab, the only survivor of the Islamic terrorists group, which killed 166 persons in Bombay, India, the government of Pakistan has started blaming foreign influences in Balochistan since December of last year.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan succeeded in putting the name of India in a context of meddling in Balochistan affairs. This was seen in the Joint statement issued on July 16, 2009, when both prime ministers met at Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt. After registration of the accusation against India, the authorities started a new round of arrests with disappearances to get confessions through statements made against India.

The Asian Human Rights Commission urges the government of Pakistan, especially the Balochistan province, to stop the arrest of students and young people and the keeping of them in incommunicado. The parents of the abducted children, who remain missing after their arrests, made an assertion. They said the government wanted statements against India for their involvement in Balochistan by way of coerced confessions. There is a grave need for law enforcement agencies to be pressured to follow the rule of law. They need to operate according to civilian laws which allow for proper methods of investigation before arrest and warrants for arrest.

No foreign help for Baloch struggle: BRP

QUETTA: The Baloch Republican Party has rejected the government’s allegations against its president, Nawabzada Barmdagh Bugti, and termed them an attempt to divert the world attention from the struggle for an independent Balochistan.

Sher Mohammad Bugti, a BRP spokesman, in a statement here on Wednesday also dismissed charges that India was providing assistance to Barmdagh Bugti, saying no foreign country was helping him. ‘The Baloch are fighting for their independence without any foreign help.’

He said massive arrests of party workers and atrocities against the Baloch people could not harm the struggle. ‘The government wanted to hide its atrocities perpetrated against the Baloch people from the world by launching a baseless propaganda,’ he added.

He said false cases were registered against Nawabzada Hairbyar Marri in London, but the British court freed him for want of proof.

He said arrests, kidnappings and killings of BRP workers and other Baloch people had become the order of the day.

The BRP spokesman appealed to the international community to take notice of what he called brutalities of security forces against the Baloch.

He said the authorities were not allowing the media to visit Dera Bugti and Marri because they were still no-go areas. ‘The international community should send independent observers to monitor the situation in these areas.’

India has not received any Pak dossier: Govt

In reply to reports coming in Pakistani media alleging India's involvement in Balochistan, government sources have told a national TV news channel that such reports are absolutely false and misleading.

On Wednesday, Pakistan's Dawn newspaper had published a report claiming that a dossier was handed over to India when Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt during NAM summit.

The alleged dossier reportedly gave details of the involvement of RAW in Balochistan and hinting at a RAW hand in the attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in March, 2009.

Pakistan silent over dossier

The Pakistan Foreign office on Thursday (July 23) refused to comment on the Dossier that was reportedly handed over to India when the two leaders met at the NAM summit in Egypt. Speaking exclusively to TIMES NOW Pakistan Foreign Minister Abdul Basit said that Pakistan will not react to any media reports. Basit said, "I have no clue about the media report that is being referred to. Our policy has always been that we do not react to media reports."

After Indian govenment sources denied that any dossier was handed over by Pakistani authorities, Pakistan newspaper, 'Dawn' which had claimed there was a counter dossier insists that Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had himself handed over the documents to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when they last met at Sharm-al- Sheikh in Egypt on the sidelines of the NAM summit. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is said to have also in turn confirmed receipt.

The controversy in question erupted after a Pakistani media report quoted official sources suggesting that Manmohan Singh agreed to the mention of Balochistan in the joint statement after his Pakistani counterpart confronted him in Sharm-el-Sheikh with a dossier detailing India's covert subversion in the restive province of Balochistan.

The report in Dawn claimed the dossier also had details about India fomenting trouble in other areas of Pakistan. The report said India was responsible for the attacks on the Sri Lankan cricket team and the Manawan police academy, and that it maintains a ‘terror training camp in Kandahar from where trained Baloch insurgents are sent into Pakistan. The report further said that the dossier had also been handed over to the US and Afghanistan.

Mention of Balochistan in Pak-India joint text 'diplomatic victory' for the Baluch people: AIM

Quetta: [Anjuman-e-Itehad-e-Marri] An organization of indigenous people struggling to end Pakistani military occupation and loot plunder of Baluchistan has termed the recent mention of their occupied homeland in the joint text between Pakistan and India as a diplomatic victory for the Baluch people.

"We want to make it clear to the world that once Baluchistan is liberated we want to have good relations with Pakistan, India and Afghanistan and all other neighbors," the Anjuman Ittehad Marri said in a statement published in the pro-independence Tawar newspaper in Baluchistan.

AIM said the mention of Baluchistan in the joint statement by prime ministers Yusuf Raza Gilani and Manmohan Singh at Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt has brought the goal of an independent Baluchistan even closer as it has helped internationalize the Baluch question.

Gilani and Singh met at the sidelines of the 118-nation Non Aligned Movement summit in Egypt last week.

The Marri body said Gilani and Singh have openly conceded that the question of Baluchistan is extremely crucial.

The joint text had an item that read, "Prime Minister Gilani mentioned that Pakistan has some information on threats in Balochistan and other areas."

The Marri organization recalled Pakistan's ignominious defeat at the hands of India in 1971 and poked fun at the Pakistani generals by telling them their pants that they left behind in Dhaka are still on display at the Indian museum in New Delhi. During Bangladesh war of liberation, Pakistan army and its allied Al Qaeda-style organization named al-Shams and al-Badr had killed three million Bengalis but surrendered to Indian troops who came to the rescue of hapless Bengali civilians.

The Marri body said Pakistan has long been advocating the Kashmir Independence movement but has now become totally unnerved by the Baluch resistance movement.

The Marri organization said Pakistani rulers have been saying they are trying to solve the Baluch question by giving the Baluch a share in Baluchistan's national resources through a so-called constitutional package devised by stooge parliamentarian. This was nothing but a play of words in the Punjabi constitution, and all of this drama has now been exposed before the entire world [as Pakistan concedes they have a serious problem in Baluchistan].

They said the war of liberation raging in Baluchistan has engulfed Pakistan like wild fire and by mention of Baluchistan in the joint text the issue of Baluchistan will be properly highlighted at the international fora.

The Anjumman Ittehad Marri is loyal to legendary Baluch leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, 89, who has long held the view allowing Pakistan to exploit Baluch national resources while Baluchistan was still under Pakistani occupation would be contrary to Baluch national interests.

One of Marri's sons, Bala'ach Marri threw the gauntlet at the Pakistan army and was killed in November 2007, while a second son Baluch national hero Hyrbiar Marri was jailed in London on the bidding of former military dictator general Pervez Musharraf on false terrorism charges. Most of Marri's other sons are also totally committed to Baluchistan's liberation.

The Marri organization rebuked Pakistani occupation forces for alleging foreign interference in Baluchistan and said the Punjabi occupiers know the Baluch traditions and values quite well that they can be empty stomach, with rags on their bodies and without shoes but consider it their duty to support the resistance groups fighting for the liberation of Baluchistan.

The Marri organization cautioned the world that just in the same way during the 1980s Pakistan played a key role in the disintegration of the Soviet Union, today they are using the same ploy against the United States.

"Pakistan's ISI [Inter Services Intelligence] and Taliban are two sides of the same coin," the Marri body said. The "Taliban fight the Americans during daytime and during the night they sit with generals at the GHQ and ISI to make plans for further attacks."

The Marri organization said the Baluch are not terrorists but freedom fighters.

They recalled recently the Inspector General of the Frontier Corp asked the Baluch to lay down their arms. They said they wanted to remind the IGFC general that surrendering arms was a formula of General A.A.K. Niazi, who headed the eastern command of the Pakistan army during the Bengali war of liberation in 1971, and surrendered before the very eyes of 90,000 Pakistani troops.

The Marri body asked the Punjabi soldiers if they really love their children and families and want to lead a peaceful and prosperous life, then they should quit their military jobs and leave Baluchistan. But if they continue to fight against the locals, there is no guarantee for their safe return as the Baluch are resolved to give all kinds of sacrifices for their national liberation.

The Marri body said mercenary soldiers are being sent to die an ignominious death in Baluchistan by their officers who are themselves living a life of lavish luxuries.

They deplored that a common soldier's pay is just a few thousands bucks and its absurd of them to join the to join the army, Frontier Corp and police and put themselves into harms way in Baluchistan.

They Marris advised these soldiers to return their weapons to their officers and head towards their homes and no Bauch will touch them. But if they try to work against the Baluch on the Baluch homeland then none can save them from the fury of the Baluch masses.

The Marri organization also fully supported the campaign of defiance launched by the Baloch Students Organziation [Azad] as part of the Baluch uprising against the occupation forces.

Frustrated by almost daily attacks on Pakistani forces, Pakistani secret services have launched a Nazi-style brutalities against Baluch youth and students.

Just in the early hours of Monday, Sami Baloch was abducted as he was returning from tuition center to home near Satellite Town in Quetta by the Pakistani militia named Frontier Corps.

Sami Baloch is student of M.A. Geology in Balochistan University and he is the member of organizing body of BSO (Azaad) Balochistan University unit. His whereabouts were unknown until the filing of this report.

The Marri organization resolved the Baluch struggle will continue until independence is achieved. It regretted the enemies of the Baluch in the Pakistan army do not understand the language of peace, the only way left for the Baluch is to employ armed struggle to end the Pakistani military occupation of Baluchistan.

Though the Marris welcomed the inclusion of Baluch in the Gilani-Singh joint statement, opinion remains divided among friends of Baluchistan in India -- the only country that is providing some moral support to the Baluch struggle --, over its far-reaching implications for the baluch.

Some influential circles in India condemned Singh for allowing Pakistan to portray Baluch as terrorists in the joint statement.

B. Raman, a former chief of the Indian foreign spy service Research and Analysis Wing, in an open letter to Congress Party chief Sonia Gandhi asked her to discipline Singh for his blunder, while others said a shrewd Singh has allowed Pakistan to internationalize the Baluch questions what many in the world could have viewed as its domestic issue.

Demonisation of the Baloch Freedom Struggle: An Open Letter to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi

By B. Raman

Dear Mrs. Sonia Gandhi,

No other section of the people of Pakistan had stood by India and the Pakistani Hindus as lovingly, as loyally and as courageously as the Balochs have done. Of all the people of Pakistan, the Balochs were the closest to the hearts of Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao and other leaders of the Congress (I) of the pre-2004 vintage.

2. When India and Pakistan became independent in 1947, in the riots that preceded and followed the Partition, practically all the Hindus, Sikhs and other non-Muslims were driven out of Pakistani Punjab and many of them from Sindh and the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) despite the protection of the non-Muslims in the NWFP by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, the Frontier Gandhi, and his brave followers. One area of Pakistan from which the non-Muslims were not driven out was Balochistan.

3. When the Babri Masjid was demolished by a Hindu mob in December,1992, mobs in Pakistani Punjab encouraged by the local officials retaliated by demolishing Hindu places of worship. There were acts of retaliation in Sindh and the NWFP too-----but not on the same scale as in Pakistani Punjab. Balochistan was one province which did not see such horrendous acts of retaliation as one saw in Punjab.

4. Baloch leaders such as Khair Bux Marri, Ataullah Khan Mengal, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and many others took the Hindus and their places of worship under their protection and saw to it that no harm came to them from the Punjabi settlers in Balochistan.

5. The Hindu population of Balochistan has considerably come down in recent years due to their forcible ejection from there by the Army after it launched the project for the construction of the Gwadar port with Chinese assistance. The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) looked upon them as potential R&AW agents and forced them to shift.

6. But the Hindus, who have managed to remain, have continued to enjoy the protection of the Baloch leaders and people. When Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was killed by the Pervez Musharraf Government in a military operation in August, 2006, among those who died with him were Baloch Hindus, whom he had taken under his protection.

7. When Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister in the early 1980s, one of the Baloch leaders, who had great love and admiration for her, wanted to celebrate the wedding of his daughter in New Delhi so that she could attend and bless the couple. She had happily agreed to it, but then had second thoughts and persuaded him not to do so. She was worried that the ISI might project him as an Indian agent.

8.When Naraimha Rao was the Prime Minister in the early 1990s, another Baloch leader, who had played a legendary role in the first war of Baloch independence and who was very ill, chose to come to India and die in its soil as a mark of his admiration and gratitude for India. As desired by him, after his death, his body was sent to his home village in Balochistan for burial.

9. Secularism is in the blood of most Balochs----whether young or old, whether rural or urban, whether educated or illiterate. There are exceptions. Some have joined the fundamentalist parties. But have you ever heard of a Baloch member of any jihadi terrorist organisation? Have you ever heard of the involvement of Balochs in jihadi terrorism in India? Have you ever heard of any Baloch sympathy for Al Qaeda or the Taliban? Have you ever heard of any Baloch member of the Pakistani diaspora abroad involved in extremism or terrorism? Have you ever heard of suicide terrorism by Balochs?

10. Yes, there have been instances of Yemeni-Balochs joining Al Qaeda and participating in brutal acts of terrorism. Some of the suspects responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl, the US journalist, in January-February, 2002, were Yemeni-Balochs. These were the offspring of mixed marriages between Baloch men and Yemeni women. But such instances were an exception. By and large, the Balochs have kept out of jihadi terrorism.

11. The Balochs have been ferociously fighting for their independence again and again. They fought their first war of independence in the early 1970s immediately after Bangladesh was born. They thought they could emulate the example of the Bengalis, but Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto, then in power, ruthlessly crushed them with his Air Force. The Balochs sent out frantic appeals for help to Indira Gandhi. Despite her love for the Balochs, she decided not to take any action. She felt it would be neither advisable nor feasible. Moreover, she was aware of the concerns of the Shah of Iran over the freedom struggle of the Balochs of Pakistan. Iran has a large Baloch population on its side of its border with Pakistan.

12. The Balochs were totally suppressed by the Punabi-dominated Pakistani Army till 2004. But their desire for independence has remained as strong as ever. They started a second war of independence in December 2005, which continues till now despite the most ruthless actions taken to suppress them by the previous Government of Pervez Musharraf and the present Government of Asif Ali Zardari. Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was killed by the Musharraf Government. Many of the young leaders of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were subsequently killed. Despite this, the freedom struggle continues.

13. When the second freedom struggle started in December, 2005, I wrote as follows in an article titled "Balochistan: Second War of Independence available at http://www.southasiaanalysis.org/papers17/paper1651.html : "The second Baloch War of Independence poses a moral dilemma for India. The Balochs had stood by Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress Party during the independence struggle against the British. They had opposed the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan. If India had to be partitioned, they would have preferred an independent Balochistan. The Balochs were the closest to Gandhi's heart. Due to reasons of realpolitik, we let them down during their first War of Independence. The same realpolitik would dictate painful inaction by us now too. But that does not mean we should hesitate to draw the attention of the international community to the ruthless massacre of the Baloch nationalists by the Pakistan army. We owe our moral support to them. The struggle for an independent Balochistan is part of the unfinished agenda of the Partition."

14. I was gratified subsequently when the Government of Dr.Manmohan Singh publicly expressed its concern over the developments in Balochistan. But, subsequently, for understandable reasons, it chose to observe a silence. It would not have been in the interests of the Balochs and their freedom struggle to give the Pakistani military-intelligence establishment an opportunity and a pretext to project them as Indian surrogates, which they definitely are not.

15. Initially, the Pakistani military-intelligence establishment started projecting them as "miscreants". When it was not able to suppress them, it started calling them as terrorists no different from Al Qaeda and their freedom struggle as a terrorist movement. It also started alleging Indian support for them, which is totally baseless.

16. As I had pointed out in my past articles, the Pakistan Army has been misusing some of the military equipment such as helicopter gunships etc received by it from the US for use against Al Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban to suppress the Balochs. Despite the most brutal acts of suppression, the brave Balochs have continued with their freedom struggle.

17.Just as the Chinese have been demonising the followers of the Dalai Lama opposing the Chinese rule in Tibet as terrorists no different from Al Qaeda, the Pakistani military-intelligence establishment has been demonising the Baloch freedom-fighters as terrorists.

18. By failing to reject any reference to Balochistan in his joint statement with Prime Minister Yusef Raza Gilani of Pakistan at Sharm-el-Sheikh, Manmohan Singh has unwittingly made India a party to the Pakistani exercise to demonise the Baloch freedom struggle as a terrorist movement. As the President of the Congress (I), which has always enjoyed bonds of strong love and sympathy with the Baloch leaders and people, you should repair the damage done to the interests of the nation and the image of your party by Manmohan Singh by his unwise action by clarifying the position of your party.

Baloch Youth got the power to defeat the occupiers of (Balochistan): Miss Karima Baloch

Quetta: (July 17, 2009) the true idea and thought (for independence of Balochistan) is deeply exhilarating inside the soul of Baloch youth. The genocide of Baloch nation can not eliminate such cemented ideas. Says the Baloch Students Organizations (AZAD) Central Voice Chairperson, Banok Karima Baloch to newspapers.

She states arresting the Baloch youth leaders and the activist and later torturing them inside the jail cannot stop them from their real stand. Today, such thought and ideas are deeply circulating inside the soul of Baloch youth. Nor negative nationalism, their redundant politics or religious Mullah’s useless and directionless speech can stop our missions.

She reminds that the Baloch youth have a strong will and power to force the occupiers to be out from Balochistan and will create a distraction for the imperialist agents.

While Islamabad offers a packages and their offer of reconciliations may be alright for the so called Baloch nationalist and parliamentarians, the youth of Baloch have been sacrificing their youthful and comfort life for a greater mission whom are behind their leaders. Leaders such as Nawab Khair Baksh Marri, who has given that voice (independence of Balochistan) because the real Baloch problem solution is in the hand of the real leaders who has been leading the Baloch national struggle.

Today, the Baloch Students Organizations (AZAD) due to its revolutionary and practical way of politics has been getting enormous support from the Baloch nation.

This is the fact, in such a hazardous and difficult time it is the Baloch Students whom are practically in the field and active for the Baloch cause.

This is the responsibility of the Baloch youth to carry on their struggle and keep that good faith of their nation and continue to reject compromise politics (for self interest), fear, greed, and tribalism. They should carry on their struggle consistently of revolutionary ideas and thoughts. (Daily Intekhab)

Pakistan government attempting to portray the Baloch students’ as terrorist

*Families of missing Baloch students, teachers and lecturers say that Pakistani government agencies are pushing Baloch students to a dead end

Buleda: (July 16, 2009) At times Baloch students, lecturers and teachers are being charged according to the act of terrorism, later they are tortured. Sometimes they have been kidnapped. Therefore, the state institutions themselves are taking the Baloch students to a dead end.

It’s clear that the state secret agencies and security forces perceive blindly. Anti - Baloch policies do not let our (Baloch) children to continue their education.

While his family winds up their hunger strike in Buleda, they addressed at the press club that if Qambar Chakar Baloch is not released within three days, then we (his family) will announce our next plan let the state administrations to know ahead that maintaining the peace and security is their responsibility.

Qambar Chakar Baloch has been mentally and physically tortured; he should be provided immediate medical treatment. His (Qambar Chakar Baloch) sin is only that he has been in the forefront of demands for the Baloch students, their reserved seats in IT university of Balochistan. He also raised every single issue of Baloch.

Islamabad is worried that Baloch students are getting education, and hence they are trying to close the education door for them.

Family criticized that the International Human Rights Organizations and the United Nations is silence in the matters of the Baloch. While the state of Pakistan through its own created drama (fabricated) cases is accusing peaceful Baloch students that they are caught carrying a bomb. It clearly shows the state’s nervousness. (Daily Intekhab Report)

http://www.balochhomeland.com

On the other hand sagaar.org reported that the administration of IT University in Balochistan (Quetta) has expelled several Baloch students for boycotting classes against the illegal arrest of their colleague Chakar Qambar Baloch. The students also alleged that the vice principal of the same University is making deliberate attempts to push Baloch students toward boycotting the classes so that he can expel them.

The following Students of Balochistan Institute of Information Technology and Management Sciences have been suspended and rusticated for protesting against the abduction of their colleague and against the biased behaviour of the university vice principal toward Baloch students.

Another Baloch man abducted by Pakistani agencies

Quetta: Sources reported that Pakistani agencies abducted another Baloch from in front of district Jail huddah Quetta here on Thursday morning (16/07-2009). According to details Fazal Khan Marri went to visit one of his jailed relatives in Hudda jail and after the visit as soon as he came out of the main gate of prison, he was abducted by the personal of Pakistani intelligence agencies. Fazal Khan Marri is a resident of New Kahan [also known as Marri camp]. He is a daily wages worker and father of two children.

It is worth noting that Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have recently increased their illegal activities in Balochistan, dozens of Baloch students, political activists and common daily wages workers have been abducted and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Despite appeals and plea from the family of missing person and continued protests in Balochistan the Pakistani higher courts including the Supreme Court of Pakistan have not been able to do anything regarding missing Baloch. International Human Rights Organisations and the so called civilised international community have also been silent on Pakistan and Iran’s atrocities against innocent and defenseless Baloch civilians. It is a shame that Western superpowers claim to be champions of human right and democracy but they are silent on the violations of Baloch peoples’ democratic and human rights.

Chakar Qamber produced to session court , two employees of BMC abducted

Quetta: Baloch missing student Chakar Qamber has been produced to a session court in Quetta here on Tuesday. Sources reported that he has been accused of terrorism charges. Balochistan students Organisations term the charges as “fake”. They said Chakar Qamber did not commit any crime and he is a dedicated and hard working student. The students alleged that the IT college administration has complained against Chakar Qambar because he was against the biased policies of the Vice Principal of the college.

The eye-witnesses had said that Chakar Qamber looked very weak and he could not walk properly. He was carried by the police officials while alighting and getting on the police vehicle, this obviously proves that he has suffered gruesome torture at the hands of Pakistani police. Sources said that after the hearing Chakar Qambar was again taken to an unknown location and he was not provided with any medications.

On the other hand illegal abductions continue in Balochistan, two employees of Balochistan Medical College have been “arrested” and “disappeared” while they were on their way to hospital.

According to reports two employees of BMC Mr Manzoor Baloch and Sikander Baloch have been abducted on Tuesday afternoon around 3:00 pm, while they were on their way to hospital to perform their duties. Both the men have been taken to undisclosed locations and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Baloch Students Action Committee, B.M.C., in a statement strongly condemned the abduction of Sikander Baloch and Manzoor Baloch.

Iran hangs 13 Sunni rebels as 'enemies of God'

By Hiedeh Farmani

According to Balochinews.com the Persian State media named the executed Sunni Baloch men as following:
1) Manochar Shah Baksh s/o Akbar
2) Mohammad Hassan Shahozai s/o Shey Mohammad
3) Abdul Rashid Hamidi s/o Hassan
4) Yaqoub Ghamshadzai s/o Alauk
5) Abdul Basit Shehaki s/o Qaim
6) Abdul Qudos Didan Naroi s/o Jumma Khan
7) Abdul Sabor Rakhshan s/o Abdul Ghafoor
8) Abdullah Wafai s/o Jan Mohammad
9) Abdul Khaliq MirBalochzai s/o Haibat
10) Tariq Abadiyan s/o Dad Mohammad
11) Yahya Regi s/o Abdul Wahid
12) Khalil Regi s/o Abdul Latif
13) Adraes Notainzai s/o Ibrahim

TEHRAN (AFP) — In a mass prison execution, Iran hanged 13 rebels from the shadowy Sunni insurgent group Jundallah as "enemies of God" for a string of attacks, including kidnapping of foreigners.

The official IRNA news agency said the insurgents were executed in prison in the restive southeastern border city of Zahedan, epicentre of a Sunni Muslim rebellion against the Shiite regime in Tehran.

"Thirteen members of this group were hanged this morning," provincial judiciary chief Ebrahim Hamidi was quoted as saying.

The rebels were accused of being "mohareb" (enemies of God) and of "kidnapping foreigners, killing innocents and of carrying out terrorist acts for the Jundallah group," IRNA said, quoting a local judiciary statement.

State media had announced on Monday that 14 members of Jundallah (Soldiers of God) would be publicly executed on Tuesday.

"After last minute consultations, the executions were carried out in a prison," Hamidi said.

The media had also reported that Abdolhamid Rigi, brother of Jundallah leader Abdolmalik Rigi, was one of the rebels to be executed. Hamidi said Abdolhamid Rigi was not among those hanged on Tuesday but would be executed later this week.

Zahedan is the capital of Sistan-Baluchestan province, which borders Afghanistan and Pakistan and is home to a sizeable ethnic Baluchi population.

Jundallah has claimed repeated attacks against Iranian government targets in the province which lies on a major trafficking route for narcotics destined for Europe and the Gulf.

In the latest major strike, Jundallah claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing on a Shiite mosque in Zahedan in May that killed 25 people, saying it was a revenge attack for the hanging of members of the Baluch minority.

The mass hangings on Tuesday come 10 days after 20 drug traffickers were executed in the town of Karaj, west of Tehran.

It is rare even in Iran, which according to human rights group Amnesty International carried out more executions than any other country apart from China in 2008, to execute such a large number of people in a single day.

In July last year, 29 people convicted of various crimes including murder, rape and drugs trafficking were executed in the largest mass execution in recent years.

Amnesty had urged the Iranian authorities to halt the Jundallah executions, saying the rebels had not received a fair trial.

"The Iranian authorities must abide by their international obligations to uphold human rights and guarantee fair trials, which is all the more essential in death penalty cases," the London-based watchdog's Middle East and North Africa director Malcolm Smart said.

Amnesty said all the accused were believed to have been arrested before the deadly attack on the Zahedan mosque, for which three people were hanged in May.

The latest hangings bring to at least 177 the number of people executed in the Islamic republic so far this year, according to an AFP count based on news reports. In 2008, Iran executed 246 people.

Tehran says the death penalty is a necessary tool for maintaining public security and is only applied after exhaustive judicial proceedings.

Murder, rape, armed robbery, drugs trafficking and adultery are all punishable by death in Iran.

Iran gives death penalty to 12 Sunni Baloch

Balochistan: Iranian regime has decided to execute 12 Baloch accused of being members of Jundullah (now turned BPRM Baloch Peoples’ Resistance Movement). Abdul Hamid Regi and Molawi Abed Gwahramzahi are among the twelve to be hanged by the end of this week. Name of ten others are not known yet.

"The revolutionary court and the appeals court voted for the execution of 12 members of the Jundullah group over the charge of moharebeh (waging war against God)," ISNA news agency quoted Head of Sistan-Baluchistan judiciary office Ebrahim Hamidi as saying on Saturday.

Past two years the Iranian regime executed or shot dead over 200 Baloch. Sadly the International Human Rights Organisations did not voice any concerned on the gross human right violations in Balochistan.

‘Balochistan conflict gaining ground’

* New York Times report says PPP government has done little to address Baloch grievances

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: Three local political leaders were seized from a small legal office from Turbat in April, handcuffed, blindfolded and hustled into a waiting pickup truck in front of their lawyer and neighbouring shopkeepers. Their bodies, riddled with bullets and badly decomposed in the scorching heat, were found in a date palm grove five days later.

The New York Times on Sunday quoted local residents as saying that they were convinced the killings were the work of intelligence agencies. The deaths fuelled an existing insurgency in Balochistan, with nationalists taking to the streets across the province.

Although the level of this building insurgency is not the same as that of the Taliban, the conflict is gradually gaining ground.

Politicians and analysts have warned that the conflict could open another front for the government, which is already engaged with the Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked terrorists in the north.

Baloch nationalists and several politicians believe the Balochistan situation has the potential to disintegrate the country, unless the government deals with the Baloch anger as a priority.

Thousands of Baloch people were believed to have been rounded up by former president Pervez Musharraf’s regime.

Baloch nationalists maintain the abuses continue under President Asif Ali Zardari and promises to heal tensions stand broken.

“It’s pretty volatile,” said Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi, the governor of Balochistan.

Efforts: Much of the Baloch resentment is a result of years of economic and political negligence. President Zardari had promised to remedy it all, but the Baloch people believe his government has done little in reality to address the grievances.

The Baloch people are becoming increasingly sceptical about the government’s sincerity to deal with their issues.

Sayed Hassan Shah, the provincial minister for Industry and Commerce, said his party was determined to attain provincial autonomy. “This is our last option,” he said. “If we fail, then maybe we have to think of liberation or separation.”

Even Governor Magsi expressed his exasperation at the government’s inaction in addressing the needs of the population.

The First Night of Torture Cell

By Malik Siraj Akbar

“Sometimes when my uncles got together, they would go into a corner and talk about a mysterious thing called sex. It sounded wonderful. I prayed that it would not go away before I grew up.”

[The Other Side of Me, Sidney Sheldon]

I was born during Zia-ul-Haq’s military regime. Normally many of us in Pakistan these days take pride in citing such coincidences. It looks like leaving a ‘positive impression’ on one’s readers or listeners that ‘yes, I grew up during the gruesome martial law days. I was born as a Muslim and the State of Pakistan forced me to be a re-born Muslim.”

I was only five when Zia, the ultra-Islamic dictator, perished in an air crash in August 1988.

Yet, Zia’s legacy continued. I was brainwashed and spoon-fed a lot of Islamic stuff at home as well as at school. While children of our age elsewhere in the world delightedly harped about cartoons and music, we spent a considerable amount of time discussing with our compatriots about Life after Death. We coveted Janaat (Paradise). We endlessly speculated about the beauty of the Hoors
(the beautiful women promised to the ‘faithful men’ who would qualify to Paradise).

Among all topics that we kept guessing about the First Night of Grave (Qabar ki Pheli raath) topped the list. We spent hours and hours discussing how the first night inside the grave would possibly feel like. Would we wake up inside the grave once we are buried? Would we converse in Arabic, even if we can’t speak that language, with Munkir Nakeer, the angels, according to the Islamic belief, assigned to inquire the dead man about his life performance? Will we have the same memory and senses while we interact with the angels? These questions increased as I grew up.

Then there was the 1990s when I entered my teens. Pakistan had resumed its journey towards democracy. We were entering an age of ‘liberalization’ and openness of the society. Our VCRs (Video Cassette Recorders) played Indian movies. We mimicked all that we watched. Now, the interest of people of my age slightly diverted from hardcore religion to more intrinsic matters such as girls, beauty, romance and marriage.

The next mysterious thing my peers and I kept on talking about at the college cafeteria at recess time was the first night of wedding which is so beautifully called Sohagrat in Hindi/Urdu. “What actually happens on that particular night,” was the starting question that continued for years with guesses and “strategies.”

The first night of Grave.
The first Night of wedding

The first night of Grave
The first night of wedding

Wedding. Grave. Grave. Wedding. Grave. Wedding. The first night. ? ? ? ?

……………………

I entered my 20s with another martial law in place. Pervez Musharraf, the military ruler, had publicly declared war with the people of my province, Balochistan.
“I will hit you [the Baloch leaders] in a way that you don’t know what hit you,” thundered the General on a TV channel.

The state intelligence agencies began to whisk away people and put them into torture cells. It was the first time we, as university students, had heard about the agencies. Agencies were a new but fascinating topic for us to discuss inside our hostel rooms. Agencies were a new phenomenon. Discussing about them was just like talking about ghosts. Some of us believed in their existence. The others did not.

“But I don’t believe that the agencies do exist,” said one of my friends as we sipped black tea in my Room No 10 at the 2nd Block of University of Balochistan in Quetta one winter evening.
“Why don’t you believe in agencies,” I slapped.

“What is this you guys keep talking about? Agencies. Agencies. Agencies. I don’t believe in agencies. You guys are simply scared. It is ridiculous when you say some people dressed in plains clothes come like a UFO (unidentified flying object) and take people away. And people suddenly go ‘missing’,” he argued.
As time passed, discussions whether agencies exited or not echoed in Balochistan’s class rooms, hotels, shops, mosques, homes and even kitchens.

While we debated the existence of ‘Faristhas’ (Angels), as we locally called them, the latter rapidly captured the whole of Balochistan. Their influence increased. They began to engineer elections. They approved and disapproved transfer and posting of all officials. They tapped journalists’ phone calls and invited them for ‘friendly advice’ in cantonment area. They followed political leaders’ movements. They whisked away five thousand people. Put them into torture cells. Denied them access to judicial justice. No body knew where they had gone. We called them ‘disappeared’ people. There were so many of them that it was hard to keep a right count on all of them.
………………………………

Now many of us believe in the existence of agencies. But that is not what we keep talking about.

The first night of Grave.
The first Night of wedding

The first night of Grave
The first night of wedding

No. No. These days we do not talk about the first night of grave or wedding. We imagine about the first night of torture cell. We keep talking to ourselves and our friends how the first night of torture cell would feel like. Many Balochs are certain about being taken to a torture cell one day or the other. So all that we keep talking about is what questions the hosting intelligence agencies would ask. How severe the torture would feel like. How much space the small and dark cabin ‘reserved’ for one’s confinement would occupy?

Today, I met a lot of people who talked about Qambar Chakar’s first night at torture cell. “What do you think they could have asked him,” asked a class fellow of Chakar. The other said, “do you think they have beaten him up severely? “ Do you think he has met Zakir Majeed and Chakar Qambarani inside the torture cell?

I don’t know, guys.
I have experienced none:

The First Night of Grave
The First Night of Wedding
The First Night of Torture Cell

Khan of Kalat for international mediation on Balochistan

LONDON: The UK-based self-exiled Khan of Kalat has said that without international mediation he would not become part of any talks to address the security-related and economic problems of Balochistan.

Mir Suleman Daud Baloch, who is awaiting a decision on his asylum application from the House of Lords, plans to move the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the status of Kalat, which became part of Pakistan under an agreement signed on March 27, 1948, between Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the then Khan of Kalat Mir Ahmad Yar Khan.

A news item three days back had termed it a positive sign that the Khan of Kalat had not yet moved the ICJ over the accusation that Pakistan has not fulfilled the promises it had made at the time of signing the treaty, but the real reason behind the delay is the Khan of Kalat’s inability to travel outside of Britain while the British government considers his appeal.

Immigration experts believe that the 35th Khan of Kalat, who has been seeking asylum since July 2007, will ultimately be granted asylum because of his profile and the ongoing unrest in the restive province. It has become almost a standard procedure in the UK to refuse asylum claims in the first phase no matter how serious the case is but appeals with serious grounds of fear of persecution are ultimately allowed and the Khan of Kalat’s case falls in this bracket, an immigration expert told this correspondent.

Speaking to The News, the Khan said he was not interested in the government’s offers and said he was determined to move international forums to seek attention towards the problems of Balochistan.

“I don’t need any offers from the government. I came out of Pakistan on my own free will and will return when I want. My return to Pakistan and becoming part of the so-called dialogue process in not the solution to problems my people are facing. My people have given me a mandate and a duty to take their case to the ICJ and I am determined to stand by them,” the Khan of Kalat said in reference to a September 2006 grand Baloch Jirga, convened after about 126 years, which recommended that a case should be lodged in the ICJ against what it termed violation of agreements signed by the State of Kalat, the Crown of Britain and the Government of Pakistan pertaining to the sovereignty and rights of the Baloch people.

The Khan said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan had phoned him several months ago, asking him to return to Pakistan for negotiations but he told the president bluntly that the approaches he was taking to address the Baloch issue were ineffective.

“I told President Zardari that Balochistan’s issue cannot be solved through all partiesí conferences, increasing the budgets and making more hollow promises. I told him that he may be well-meaning but he was powerless to do anything on the ground. The real power, he knows, lies elsewhere. If Zardari was powerful and independent in taking decisions, why would he go to the United Nations to seek justice for his wife Benazir Bhutto’s murder?”

Refusing to be part of any efforts to settle the Baloch issue, the Khan of Kalat, who lives with his family in Cardiff, lay down only one condition to become part of the talks. “The talks have to be mediated by the United States of America, Russia, the United Kingdom or other European countries. The Pakistani government should choose anyone of them. Accept that and you will find me ready to sit down for meaningful talks. There is no point for us any more in getting engaged with powerless people. That option is off the table now. Sixty years of broken promises have broken my faith completely in the sincerity of Islamabad.”

Answering a question, His Highness, as it states on his passport, said that Governor Zulfikar Magsi and many others in the provincial government had said it on record that they are powerless and cannot promise any change to the status quo. “Invitations to talks and big promises were a hoax being played to divert the attention from the real issues.”

Balochistan: A Twelve year minor student of ninth class abducted allegedly by Pakistani agencies

Quetta: Students strongly protested against the abduction of a ninth grade student by unknown armed kidnappers, in Balochistan’s provincial capital, Quetta. The protectors alleged that the Pakistani secret agencies were behind this heinous crime of abducting a minor student.

Abdul Nabi, a twelve year ninth grade student of Kalli Sheikh Khan High School, was kidnapped on Tuesday’s morning while his driver was taking him to school.

According to the details told by Abdur Rahim, his driver, a Prado blocked their road on railway track, in Moosa Colony, armed people came out of the car, blind folded Adbur Rahim and the time Abdur Rahim untied his eyes, the Kidnappers had already taken the boy away and had disappeared.

Soon the news of the abduction of the minor Baloch boy reached to every ear in the city. Upon hearing the disturbing news Baloch Students and family members of Abdul Nabi protested in front of Quetta press club, and strongly criticized the provincial government and demanded immediate release of Abdul Nabi.

Meanwhile Abdul Nabi’s elder brother Dur Muhammed demanded the Chief Minister and Governor of Balochistan to make every effort to make sure the immediate release young Abdul Nabi.

Students from different schools in Quetta boycotted the classes and a student of Sendemen School warned of burning his course books if Abudl Nabi was not released within 24 hours. Students said that provincial government has failed to control the illegal abductions of Baloch students and teachers by the secret agencies and the people are kidnapped for the core crime of being Baloch.

Police has registered a case against unknown abductors but no arrests have been made so far. Also the police have failed to recover the abducted minor Baloch student. Though D.I.G. Quetta Shahid Nizam Durrani shurged off questioning that “why would secret agencies of Pakistan kidnap a child”. There must be any other reasons behind this incident as Abdul Nabi’s father is a contractor as well as a member of Muslim League, he added. The D.I.G. however said that the Police was looking into the incident and very soon they will apprehend the real culprits.

Mine kills five FC soldiers, hurts four in Balochistan

QUETTA: A landmine killed five paramilitary soldiers and wounded four others in the Marwar area of Balochistan province on Thursday, security officials said.

The blast happened in a hilly area home to dozens of coalfields, about 30 kilometers east of Quetta, the provincial capital. ‘Our vehicle hit a mine, killing five soldiers and injuring four others,’ a Frontier Corps (FC) official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

‘The vehicle was returning to Quetta after delivering food supplies to soldiers stationed in the area,’ he said. One of the injured is in a serious condition, he added.

The injured security officials have been shifted to Quetta for medical treatment.

However, soon after the incident senior security officers reached the area to probe into the incident. They also cordoned off the area to investigate the incident.

So far no group has claimed responsibility but officials believe that Baloch militant groups could be behind the planting of the landmines.

Mine explosions are fairly frequent in Balochistan, which has faced ongoing separatist violence since 2004. — DawnNews/AFP

Taliban; helplessness, the punishment of the bad deeds or golden egg laying chicken for Pakistan?

Pakistan's president Asif Ali Zardari after coming in power took the beggar's pot and started begging in the name of funds. The United States and other friend countries refused politely saying 'Pardon us old beggar!' As Pakistan is suffering from very poor financial conditions, its rulers tried different dialects to earn money i.e. in the name of Islam and neighborhood hoping to get any capital from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and China. It had a clear attitude towards Europe and US i.e. begging along blackmailing (which still exists) that if the West doesn’t help Pakistan, Islamic extremists might spread worse disaster in their countries. We (Pakistan) are fighting West's war etc etc. But this is very untrue. The following war and the Taliban both have become very important to Pakistan. Pakistan cannot save the world from the ongoing war or from Taliban and neither it wants to do so because from the beginning of Afghan war till today, Pakistan has been wasting money (like a rich man's careless son) without caring about where it is coming from. It seems Pakistan is suffering from the burden of millions of Afghan refugees but Pakistani rulers know very well how to cash this burden and what the real price of it is. If billions of dollars from the US and the West wouldn’t fly to Pakistan its economical condition would have never let it become a nuclear power.
Afghanistan is on war from last 31 years whereas regardless peace in Pakistan nothing was achieved. There was no difference between the so-called democracy and the martial law. No difference was felt in citizen's life nor did the economy of the country get a bit stronger. To get funds on behalf of Afghan war and country's own debts, political statements and false console were used. Every day is not Sunday, the world at last became fed up of helping Pakistan whereas the result was opposite of expectations being nightmares and worse. Pakistani state is toward its decline and Taliban who were fighting in different forms(under Pakistan's supervision) against the Soviet Union has strengthened its roots in Pakistan along with Al-Qaeda. Mega corruption, political destabilization, anarchy, economical crisis and religious extremism are the main promoters of Terrorism in Pakistan.
Pakistan's dual definition about Taliban;
In Pakistan there is a concept of Pakistani Taliban and other Taliban which the US, West and India had repeatedly told the world about. Perhaps this was the reason media started to report (in the beginning of Swat operation) that on one hand military operation is going on in Swat whereas on the other hand clear and safe places are left for Taliban to run away. Innocent people are going to be used to show the effects of operation as positive. US and West are going to cheers on this situation, while on the other hand the real people (Pakistan provided leadership of Taliban) are going to succeed in running away. Some of these (Pakistani) Taliban are given the duty of violating the situation in the state of Baluchistan in order to get the ongoing genocide certificate to kill Pro-liberation Baloch in the name of Taliban and deceive the civilized world making them spectators.
It is necessary for Pakistani rulers to make sure that a part of Taliban remains safe which can be used to provoke hatred against India. Peace, stabilization and Indian influence in Afghanistan is never tolerated in Pakistan. It can be said satisfactorily that having peace in Afghanistan democratic wise India is imagined to be its best partner rather than Pakistan.
It is much easy for the economically stabilized and the secular India to strengthen its roots in Afghanistan. There has been never found any animosity against India in Afghanistan nor its leadership or people had any hatred against it. Whereas, Pakistan's popularity among Afghanis remained negative. A large number of Afghanis still blame Pakistan for all the annihilations occurred in their country. Therefore, Pakistan still needs Taliban activities and strict motives in Afghanistan, Kashmir and India itself. Promoting the debate of Talibanisation is necessary for Pakistani establishment's own security as well as to let Pashtoon divided. In today's modern age, religious extremism is the only slogan which has diverted the Pashtoons from national freedom struggle and stuck them in religious war. Hence today Pashtoons are unaware of their national freedom from Pakistan; they are fighting a war worth freedom and demanding religious law implementation (sharia). Pakistan is very aware and never wants Pashtoons to be liberated from the craze of religion (which is a butter giving cow for Pakistan). This is the slogan which has made Pashtoons from both side of the border busy in its own genocide due to which Pakistan in between is enjoying reliefs and funds.
Regular interference of Pakistan in Afghanistan easily concludes that Pakistan is never in favor of a well-developed and peaceful Afghanistan which is a threat to its own geographical security. In case of a developed and peaceful Afghanistan, Pashtoons in Pakistan being a well developed nation (among neighbors) having a large number of educated and skilled people who are going to be the first preference in Afghanistan's development, can at any point realize that partition of Pashtoons was under the conspiracy of the British and rather than living with the Punjabis and other nations it should join its own historical country where along with Islam its own history, own language and own culture is still present. In the present situation, Pashtoons can be compared with a horse who reveals its energy on the judgment day and after realizing it bewails on its simplicity that in spite being so energetic it had been misused even by infants. Pakistani leadership is well aware of this energy and knows that if Pashtoons decide their separation from Pakistan and will to join their historical country, it will be impossible for Pakistan to keep Pashtoon with it anymore. Well developed Afghanistan will remain a threat to Pakistan's geography until a solution is found for the above mentioned chance.
These are the basic reasons preventing Pakistan to eliminate Taliban and the world is not ready to trust Pakistan's intensions. But, let us analyze this question (regardless to our thoughts and analysis); Military operation in Swat and Tribal areas will succeed or not?
In this regard we see Pakistani military operation failed in all means because they lack the support of locals and overall Pashtoon nation. This fact can be realized that when a nation's almost 3 million people have been displaced from their happy homes and the particular nation is still in the favor of the military operation. Regardless restrictions on media, the reports reaching from the affected areas are both against Pakistan and Taliban but if locals are asked to appoint one single enemy they will surely select Pakistani forces rather than Taliban (Pashtoon) to be much responsible for all disaster because the sin of Drone attacks is also counted in Pakistani forces and Taliban sins which has the willingness of Islamabad that can be a reason of incensement in Pakistani state sins. (Punjab's bombardment of Carpet Bombs over Pakistani Pashtoon and locals is not included in the debate)
Punjab and Sind's expression of hatredness against the Pashtoon refugees has been the fuel in the fire. Both Punjab and Sind had expressed straight to the point that they are unhappy with the arrivals of the Pashtoon refugees in fact they are protesting against it which is not a big deal but this act might force the Pashtoons to think that if Punjab and Sind can settle their own displaced people anywhere they want saying we all are Pakistanis and anyone can settle anywhere it doesn’t matters but the real fact of this Pakistanism appears when refugees of any other province turn toward them and they start screaming in fear of turning into minority but when this situation comes on other nations specially Baloch, they are named narrow minded and foreign agents.
Government or non-governmental related Pashtoon nationalists and religious forces will stand against the hatredness of Punjab and Sind against the Pashtoon which will strengthen the acute of the voices raised against the military operation increasing the public pressure causing suspension of military operation or reducing its intensity. This will allow Taliban to transfer its war from its homeland to the bigger cities of Punjab and Sind and emerge with new intensity, new experience and new tactics of disaster. Time will decide their then slogan. These are the punishments of the bad deeds of Pakistani leaders which will counter their selves first. These are the biggest threat to Pakistan establishment and the world today is finding a solution for this. These include the Islamic Nuclear Weapons, drugs, and religious extremists. This is the reason world's biggest assassins IMF and the World Bank hold the sword on the hanging head of the Pakistani state in order to permanently get rid of the begging slogans 'In the name of poor's', 'in the name of terrorism'.
